Description
Innohep® is a clear, colorless to slightly yellow, sterile solution. It
is the sodium salt of a low-molecular-weight heparin. It is produced by
controlled enzymatic depolymerization of heparin from porcine intestinal
mucosa using heparinase from Flavobacterium heparinum. Its pH is of 5.0 to
7.5
Uses
- It is a "blood thinner" used to treat blood clots usually
formed in the legs or lungs.
- It is used to treat acute symptomatic deep vein thrombosis, with or
without pulmonary embolism, in conjunction with warfarin sodium.
They are used with caution in following ailments :
- Decreased function of the liver (hepatic insufficiency)
- Severe kidney failure
- Injuries to or surgery on the central nervous system
- Spinal or epidural anaesthesia
- Asthma
- Diabetes mellitus
- Bleeding in the brain (cerebral haemorrhage)
- Recent surgery, bleeding or major injury
- Increased acid levels in the blood (metabolic acidosis)
- High levels of potassium in the blood (hyperkalaemia)
How to use \ dosage ?
Tinzaparin is given as an injection under the skin of your stomach. Inject
this medication under the skin (subcutaneously), usually once daily; or use
as directed by your doctor. Do not inject this into the same skin area two
times in a row. If any of the information is unclear, consult your doctor or
pharmacist. To be sure this medication is helping your condition and is not
causing harmful effects, your blood and your stool (bowel movement) will
need to be tested on a regular basis. Your nerve and muscle function may
also need to be tested. Do not miss any scheduled visits to your doctor.
Safety tips
It is not to be used if you have the following problems :
- Kidney problem
- Liver problem
- Stomach problem ( ulcers etc )
- Infections in heart
- Stroke
- Allergies to pork products
This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of
its ingredients. Inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

- Tenderness
- Redness
- Fever
- Vision problem
- Uncontrolled nosebleeds
- Blood in your urine
- Blood vessel damage in the eyes (retinopathy) caused by diabetes
- Bloody or black, tarry stools
- Unexpected vaginal bleeding
- Coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds
- Pale skin
- Upset stomach
- Gas problem
- Sleeping problem
