Description
Polymyxin B Sulfate is a polypeptide antibiotic, which works to kill
sensitive bacteria.
Uses
- Treating serious infections caused by certain bacteria.
- To treat eye infections.
- To prevent and treat localized skin infections.
How to use ?
- It comes as an ointment that is applied to the skin and in eye
ointment. When using the skin ointment, clean the affected area before
applying. You can also cover the area with a sterile dressing.
- Polymyxin B may be also be given in various other ways, depending on
your condition, which also include an irritation solution.
- Do not apply cosmetics or other skin creams to the affected area
without consulting your doctor.
- Use as directed by your doctor.
Safety tips
- Do not apply this medication to a child's diaper area.
- Do not use it for more than seven days if you obtained this
medication without a prescription.
- Do not use Polymyxin B if it is cloudy or discolored or contains
particles or if the vial is damaged.
- To clear up your infection completely, use it for the full course of
treatment.
- If you miss a dose , use it as soon as possible. However, do not use
2 doses at once.
- If you are pregnant or breast feeding, consult your doctor before
taking Polymyxin B.
- If you have allergic reaction to a skin or eye preparation containing
neomycin, bacitracin, or polymyxin, tell your doctor before taking this
medication.
- Let your doctor also know if you have kidney disease.
- Apply only small amounts to burns, sores, cuts, and wounds. Do not
apply more than directed because neomycin can be absorbed into the body
through broken skin and can cause kidney problems and hearing
difficulty.

or major or no side effects. Consuming norfloxacin might cause
