Ofloxacin is a popular
antibiotic used for treating certain bacterial infections including
pneumonia; bronchitis; venereal disease (VD). It is also used for
treating prostate, skin, and urinary tract infections. The drug is
also used to treat Peritonitis and gonorrhoea.
Ofloxacin belongs to the group of antibiotics called
fluoroquinolones, that help fighting bacteria in the human body.

Dosage
Adults: 200-400 mg daily usually for 5-76 days depending on
the type and severity of infection. Doses greater than 400 mg should
be given in 2 divided doses
Urinary Tract Infection: 200-800 mg daily
Lower respiratory tract infection: 400-800 mg daily
Gonorrhoea: 400 mg as a single dose
Contra- Indications: Hypersensitivity to 4-quinolones.
History of epilepsy. Pregnancy and lactation
Side Effects
The drug has certain side effects, that can affect individuals in
