Description
METHOTREXATE is a type of chemical which is used to treat
particular kinds of cancer and other diseases. It affects on cells
that grow rapidly such as cancer cells, cells of psoriasis, and
cells in your mouth and stomach. Methotrexate is used to treat
dangerous types of cancers including leukemias, lymphoma, breast
cancer, and others. Lower dose of methotrexate injections may be
given to patients with psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis.
Uses
Intake of Methotrexate is dangerous, so is useful only in the
following conditions :
- Methotrexate is used to treat only life-threatening cancer.
- It is ingested in severe psoriasis.
- It also works in rheumatoid arthritis.
- It is also applicable in psoriatic arthritis, mycosis
fungoides, and a variety of solid tumors
Doses
The drug can be given by injection into a vein or a large muscle.
In special situations, it may be injected into the spinal cord.
Depending upon the condition of the patient, the dose of
Methotrexate can vary.

If vinblastine is accidentally leaked, the skin or muscle can be
severely damaged.
- You should explain your medical history to your Doctor.
- You should tell your Doctor if you ever have any ulcers, lung
disease, problems with your immune system, intestinal disease,
cancer, kidney or liver disease.
- You should tell your Doctor if you are pregnant or doing
breast feeding.
- Tell your Doctor if you are habitual to alcohol, it increases
the chance of liver damage with methotrexate

vaccinations (e.g., measles or flu shots).
