Description
LINCOMYCIN (Lincocin®) is an antibiotic or antiinfective. It is
a white crystalline powder and is odorless or has a faint odor.
LINCOCIN Sterile Solution contains lincomycin hydrochloride which is
the monohy-drated salt of lincomycin, a substance produced by the
growth of a member of the lincolnensis group of Streptomyces
lincolnensis belongimg to family Streptomycetaceae. Generic
lincomycin injection is available.
Uses
- It treats serious blood, lung, skin, tissue or pelvic
infections caused by bacteria.
- Used in the treatment of serious infections due to
susceptible strains of streptococci, pneumococci, and
staphylococci.
How to use \ dosage ?
Lincomycin is for injection into a muscle or for infusion into a
vein. This can be intravenous , intervenous or subconjunctival
injection injecting in a vein. Finish the full course of medicine
prescribed by your prescriber or health care professional even if
you feel better. Do not stop using except on your prescriber's
advice.
NOTE: Severe cardiopulmonary reactions have occurred when
this drug has been given at greater than the recommended
concentration and rate
.
Safety tips

- diarrhea
- kidney disease
- liver disease
- inflammatory bowel disease
- ulcerative colitis
- an unusual or allergic reaction to lincomycin, clindamycin,
other medicines, food, dyes or preservatives, like benzyl
alcohol
- pregnant or trying to get pregnant
- breast-feeding

- difficulty breathing
- diarrhea that is watery or severe
- feeling like you are going to faint
- stomach pain or cramps
- skin rash
- unusual bleeding or bruising
