ISOSORBIDE MONONITRATE


Isosorbide mononitrate belongs to the class of drugs known as 'anti-anginal medications'. The drug is more active and longer acting than isosorbide dinitrate. It is effective in classical as well as variant angina & increases exercise tolerance, postpones ECG changes of ishchaemia.

Working

The drug is popularly used for treating angina pectoris and works by dilating the blood vessels , in order to lower the blood pressure.

Dosage: 20 mg 2-3 times a day
