Cloxacillin is an antibiotic belonging to a class of drugs called penicillins. It fights bacteria in your body. It is used to treat many different types of infections caused by staphylococcus bacteria.

• Let you doctor know if you have ever had an allergic reaction to another penicillin or to a cephalosporin.
• Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have stomach or intestinal disease, kidney disease, or infectious mononucleosis.
• If you are a diabetic, some glucose urine tests may give false positive results while you are taking cloxacillin.
